EIGHT DOLPHINS SWIM CLUB RECORDS BROKEN ON DAY ONE OF THE 2025 DOLPHINS FAST AND FURIOUS INVITATIONAL GALA

The much-anticipated 2025 Dolphins Fast and Furious invitational gala was off to a good start as 810 swimmers took to the swimming pool to compete for not only pride and medals but for cash prizes too.
The 2- day event happening at Kampala Parents School in Naguru had 30 events completed on the first day in 100 IM, 25M Breaststroke, 50M Breaststroke, 25M Backstroke and 50M Backstroke with 5 swimmers walking away with cash prizes after breaking records.
In total eight dolphins swim club records were broken which are: –
• Tendo Mukalazi (15 and over) 50M Backstroke – 27.62 from 28.79 held by Atuhaire Ambala
• Suubi Peyton (15 and over) 50M Backstroke – 33:64 from 33.67 held by Daya Mpeera
• Muttamba Abigael (6 – 8) 25M Backstroke – 19:33 from 19.75 held by Adams Aya
• Kaweesa Jonathan (13 – 14) 50M Backstroke – 29.52 from 30.44 held by Adnan Kabuye
• Kaweesa Jonathan (13 – 14) 50M Breaststroke – 33:42 from 34.24 held by Adnan Kabuye
• Tendo Mukalazi (15 and over) 100 (IM) Individual Medley – 59:28 from 1:01.77 held by Atuhaire Ambala
• Kawesa Jonathan (13 – 14) 100 (IM) Individual Medley – 1:03 from 1:08.00 held by Paulsen J.Ssettumba
• Elisha Rukundo (6 – 8) 100 (IM) Individual Medley – 1:32 from 1:35.40 held by Ssengooba Ethan
Coach Tonny Kasujja Head Coach Dolphins Swim Club Kampala was extremely impressed by the day’s performance saying, “It has been a superb start to the gala, our main goal for the event has already been achieved which is breaking records, so eight records are down and the athletes are excited to get their rewards and they have sent a message to the teams that it is possible. We hope next year all the records may go down because athletes will start training focusing on beating exciting records and times.”
Action in the 2025 Dolphins Fast and Furious invitational gala which is also the 7th edition of this gala will return on Sunday 28th September 2025 at Kampala Parents School Naguru as the event closes out with the final gala events and awarding ceremony.
