GLORIA ANN MUZITO WINS GOLD AT 6TH ISLAMIC SOLIDARITY GAMES

Nov 10, 2025

Uganda’s and Dolphins Swim Club’s female swimmer Anna Gloria Muzito claimed gold at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia after clocking in at 25:59 in the Women’s 50M Freestyle event.

After the victory Gloria expressed her joy saying “I’m very happy, very thankful for my gold. This is the receipt for all the hard work I put in, and I’m so happy to receive these results. I’m very excited for the rest of the competition, and yeah, we’re ready to go.

Talking about her next race she said, “I’m very excited. I’m going to do my best and we’ll see how far that goes.

Her coach and team Uganda’s coach Tonny Kasujja was elated at the gold as he congratulated her and said, the performance has been really good generally; we had two finalists, Jessie and Gloria.

Gloria performed well, and it’s what she had shown from the start that she was really set. So, we believe that the scholarship that she got from world Aquatics in partnership with Uganda Aquatics has really worked and it’s doing wonders with even the other athletes.

Commenting on the preparation he said, preparation has been very good; my major role was to ensure that the athletes keep under control and to ensure that they’ve been motivated and focused on good performance, which has been really achieved because all the athletes have really performed very well, including Tendo and Tara.

Speaking about the relays and other events that are yet to come, Coach Tonny said it is a lot of effort. Technically, there’s not too much you can work on, but to ensure that the athletes are healthy, they are happy, they are motivated, they are serious. They’re just looking forward to good performances and to ensure that they are hungry for results. That is what my major focus has always been, when you go to an international event, it’s basically to focus on athletes staying hungry or performing very well.

Gloria Ann Muzito and Team Uganda will be back in action on 10th and 11th Nov 2025 for 100M freestyle, 50M Backstroke, 50M Breaststroke, 100M Butterfly, 200M Freestyle and Mixed relays respectively.
